KPUB Korean BBQ: Reviews & Ratings
So first off, they bring out an absolutely large amount of food, from salad and kimchi to other things such as what I am guessing is daikon radish. All of it of it was rather nice, some things fermented, some just seasoned. I honestly could not tell you what most of the dishes are called, but it was amazing. Being I was taking a friend out to lunch for their birthday, I opted for what they have listed as their “Combo A” It came with corn and this soup. They had the option of an egg custard instead of the soup, but who does not like soup? The meat they brought out was two different cuts of pork belly, some pork neck, pork short rib and some chopped seasoned pork. The woman serving us got the grill going and put on the first few cuts of meat on for us. She also put in some vegetables such as asparagus, onion, and mushrooms. It really was a great melody of different food options just at the start of the meal. We would flip some of the meat or push it around to keep it from getting burned. Pulling pieces off the grill and being able to dip them in the sauces before eating was fantastic, could not say what the sauces are once again, but the middle one kind of tasted like it may have had some soju in it. By the time the rest of the meat was tossed on the grill, me and my friend were absolutely stuffed between everything we had eaten and the first cuts of meat. It said for two through three on the menu, but could easily feed four in the end. So how did it all stack up in the end? Solid 9/10 for experience, the Waitress was fantastic and talked with us quiet a bit about different things regarding food back in Korea. Decor 8/10 it is a really nice looking place, I forgot to get pictures because of yummy food but it was nicely decorated. Food 9/10 I will absolutely be back to try more of their options. Overall, for trying something different, I say you cannot go wrong with it. The food was good; the decor was nice, and the staff was friendly.
*reposted on yelp We went on a weds, a little after they opened and there was only a few people there. We were a family of 8. I'm not sure what the max person was before gratuity was charged, but I did see it on my receipt. The place was a pretty good some for a kbbq. I've been in super small ones with about 6 small tables or less. The ahjumma was super nice, attentive, and very knowledgeable. She came over to cook for us whenever she can. I never knew "pork jaw" until she mentioned it. We order the Combo B and I would say it was enough for the 8 of us. We also got korean pancake and beef Tteok-bokki. The ahjimma did say we were all "skinny". Lol. But I ate the most. Lots and lots of side dishes that you can get full from or take home. We did take some meat home as well. We did not feel rushed at all! We stayed for almost 2 hours just eating and talking. This probably the best korean bbq in Alaska. I'm originally from Cali so I miss all the Korean food in LA and Bay area and this reminds me of the kbbq back home. We will be going again! Kamsahamnida!
Everything about this place was fantastic. One of my favorite Korean BBQ places. I'm visiting from Washington state and the group I was in was craving some good KBBQ. KPUB did not disappoint. Kelly was our server and she was just an absolute joy to be around. Thank you so much for such a great experience! P.s. the spicy pork is AMAZING.
